Highway 60 north of Jerusalem has been closed to traffic due to snow, which has accumulated from 6 to 20 centimeters (2-8 inches). Parts of Highway 60 near Kiryat Arba/Hevron, roads from Gush Etzion towards Beit Shemesh and the road to Betar Illit also have been closed.
Precipitation is less than expected in the north, where snow is falling at this moment in the northern Golan Heights. Heavier accumulations are expected in the central and southern hills in the afternoon and evening. Half a meter (20 inches) of snow has fallen so far on the Hermon, and the ski site is scheduled to open on Friday.
Light snow is beginning to fall in the southern Hevron Hills.
