Iran Surpasses 300 Tons of Uranium Enrichment Gas

The Islamic Republic is now producing more than 300 tons of a gas used in the uranium enrichment process, according to a report by the Associated Press.

Production of uranium hexafluoride gas has surpassed 300 tons, according to the report. Iran has refused to halt its uranium enrichment program despite several rounds of sanctions imposed by the United Nations Security Council.  Israel believes the Islamic Republic is developing a nuclear weapon, despite protestations by Iranian officials the program is aimed at development of nuclear power for peaceful domestic use.
