UN Human Rights Council Formally Condemns Israel

Israel was formally condemned Thursday by the United Nations Human Rights Council for its counter-terrorism measures in Judea, Samaria and Gaza, including the blockade implemented last week in response to massive rocket attacks on Israeli communities in the western Negev.

The resolution proposed by Arab and Muslim countries passed with 30 votes in favor and 15 abstentions by European and other nations. European nations claimed they abstained on the grounds the resolution did not address the hundreds of Kassam rockets fired at Israel by Palestinian Authority terrorists in Gaza, according to the Associated Press in Geneva.
