The family of Carlos Chavez, the Ecuadorian kibbutz volunteer who was slain by a PLO sniper on Tuesday while working in the fields at Kibbutz Ein Hashlosha on the border with Gaza, says it has no regrets about Carlos's journey to Israel.
In an interview with the Yisrael Hayom (Israel Today) newspaper Wednesday, Chavez's sister, Diana, says that coming to Israel was a dream for Carlos, that he wanted to be a part of Israeli society, to know it and experience it. Diana added that while agricultural labor was difficult for him, "he was content."
