The European Union denied on Sunday any involvement in the smuggling of bomb-making chemicals into Gaza packed into bags labeled "sugar" as humanitarian aid from the EU.

Israeli soldiers discovered the explosive ingredients during a routine inspection of goods intended for entry into Gaza. Approximately 6.5 tons of potassium nitrate was confiscated.
