At least four people were killed and 10 wounded in a bombing in Beirut, Lebanon, on Wednesday morning.  The bombing took place near the presidential palace, according to French media sources.  Several senior diplomats live in the area.

The attack was apparently carried out via a car bomb.  Eyewitnesses reported heavy damage to the area.

Elections to choose a new Lebanese president have been pushed off several times due to tensions between various parties.  Due to the delays, Lebanon has been left without a president for the first time since the civil war of 1975-1990.
