High Court Gives Go Ahead to Winograd Committee

The High Court Tuesday morning rejected two petitions that would have delayed the publication of the Winograd Committee report on the Second War in Lebanon. IDF attorneys had appealed to the court to order the panel to issue warning letters to officers who may be criticized by the committee's report. The committee argued that the report, expected to be published next month, does not target specific officers.

The other petition was filed by the Movement for Quality Government, which wanted the court to order the Winograd Committee to issue recommendations against government and military individuals it deems responsible for errors in conduct of the war.
