MK Ariel: Police Shouldn’t be Surprised by Poor Image

MK Uri Ariel (NU/NRP) criticized police on Thursday for allegedly using violence while expelling Jewish families from their homes in the new community of Harchivi, near Elon Moreh.  Despite police investigations and new procedures, he said, “the police demonstrate unrestrained violence over and over.  The police should not be surprised that their public image is so low.”

Activists say that police wounded at least one demonstrator, attempted to hit a local rabbi, and forcibly arrested and dragged a pregnant woman.  Police arrested six activists during the expulsion, accusing some of them of violence against officers.
