The new section of Highway 6 (Kvish 6) to be opened south to Kiryat Gat in the next two weeks will be free of charge, thanks to the intervention of the controversial Finance Ministry watchdog Yaron Zelicha. He ruled that tolls on the highway cannot extend to the new section because it was built without tenders.
The new section extends the high-speed highway from the intersection with Highway 3, which connects the Latrun Junction with Bnei Re'em, near Kiryat Malachi.
