Barak: There is No Way But Victory (IsraelNN.com) "Hizbullah has acquired heavier rockets with a longer range than it did before the war," Defense Minister Ehud Barak said in Beersheva Wednesday. "They have built up their rockets, which they smuggle in through mountain passages. UNIFIL and the [U.N. Resolution] 1701 ceasefire do not stop them," he explained. "We must win every war; there is no other way but to win," Barak said. "Israel is still the strongest country in the region, but an army is something you need to know how to operate. It is not an automatic object." "The IDF is like an orchestra," he told an audience of Labor activists. "It's as if I asked the Beersheva Symphony Orchestra, at seven o'clock, to get ready to play a difficult piece by ten o'clock. It won't work. You have to practice and prepare and tke things seriously. The last war was botched. People did not hear or see these things and we are taking care of that." ![]() Sign up for new Daily Israel Headlines: One page – All the news © A7 Syndications - This article may not be republished freely.
