Rice Meets With Carter, Clinton

U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice conferred with former Presidents Clinton and Carter for advice on how to handle the upcoming U.S. sponsored Mideast conference. Both presidents held similar wide-ranging summits during their terms.

"She's trying to draw on the historical record and the experiences of others to see what she can glean and how that may be applicable to the current day," State Department spokesman Sean McCormack said on Friday of Rice's plans to meet the former presidents.
