Chief Rabbis on the Road

Chief Sephardic Rabbi Shlomo Amar, who is also the Chief Dayan of the Israel Rabbinate's Rabbinical Court, is visiting the United States to discuss conversion standards in order to ensure that Orthodox rabbis in the U.S. and the Rabbinate work in tandem. Rabbi Amar wants to establish conversion courts in the U.S. that would be administered by the Rabbinical Council of America, an umbrella group of Orthodox rabbis.

Ashkenazi Chief Rabbi Yona Metzger is also traveling this week – to Naples, Italy, where he will participate in the first World Day of Prayer for Peace Sunday.
