Gaza terror organizations fired fewer rockets at Israel in the passing month compared to the previous month, SHABAK (General Security Service) chief Yuval Diskin told the weekly government session Sunday. Diskin said the total of rockets fired in September was 85, down from 110 in August.
Diskin estimated that the reduction in rocket attacks stemmed from a decision by Hamas to cease firing rockets on Israel. On the other hand, he said, there was a spike in the amount of weapons being smuggled into Gaza after Hamas wrested power from Fatah there.
"Gaza is a powder keg," he said. "It has strengthened its status as a powder keg since the Hamas takeover."
