The police will move its Judea and Samaria headquarters into the E-1 area connecting Ma'aleh Adumim with Jerusalem by the end of December, according to Public Security Minister Avi Dichter (Kadima), quoted by the Hebrew daily Ha'aretz. The move will take place despite objections by the American government.
The minister, considered to be one of the most hawkish within the Kadima party led by Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, said that "the building exists, and by the end of the year, policemen are supposed to move in. The Housing Ministry needs to finish the site's infrastructure, and the move into the building is currently being held up only by the infrastructure issue."
