Police Commissioner Dudi Cohen visited Prime Minister Ehud Olmert in his Sukkah Sunday and wished him "many years" in office despite an ongoing police investigation on alleged criminal violations by the Prime Minister when he served as Cabinet minister. Prime Minister Olmert returned the greetings with great praise for the police department.

Media analysts have noted that it took Attorney General Menachem Mazuz a year and a half to order a police probe on the purchase by Prime Minister Olmert of a Jerusalem residence at below market value. The case is considered to be the weakest of three separate incidents involving him, but the other two remain on the Attorney-General's desk for a decision on whether to close the case or order more police investigations.
