Synagogue Reopened in Kotel Tunnel

Several rabbis and community leaders attended a reopening ceremony on Wednesday morning for a synagogue located in the tunnels next to the Kotel (Western Wall).  The synagogue was originally established by Rabbi Yehuda Gatz.

Rabbi Shmuel Rabinovitch, the rabbi of the Kotel, spoke at the event.  He said that the synagogue is the closest Jewish place of worship to the Temple mount, and is located only two meters from the Kotel and roughly 97 meters from the spot on which the Holy of Holies stood during the time of the Temple.
