Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni has taken the opportunity to meet with a number of Arab leaders during the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
Livni met Monday with the Deputy Foreign Minister of Oman, Sayyid Bader as well as the foreign ministers of Jordan and Mauritania. Oman cut off relations with Israel after the start of the second intifada in 2000.
On Tuesday Livni met with her Egyptian counterpart, Ahmed Aboul Gheit. She also met with the Emir of Qatar, a historic first for Israel.
