Youths Charged with Attempted Murder over Koran

(IsraelNN.com) Three Israeli Arabs from the village of Arabeh in the Galilee have been charged with violent assault and attempted murder for an attack on an Arab resident of Hevron.  The youths allegedly kidnapped, beat, and hung the man from Hevron because they suspected him of stealing copies of the Koran from a local mosque.

The 18, 19, and 21-year-old attackers allegedly abducted their 24-year-old victim and threatened to kill him if he did not confess to stealing the Korans.  Two of the attackers then stripped the man naked and beat him with wooden planks.  The three then hung the man on a makeshift gallows, causing him to lose consciousness.  The three then removed the noose and called police.
