Israel Wants Another Nuke Reactor

Israel has filed a formal application to the NSG, or Nuclear Supplier Group, requesting that it change the regulations governing the supply of nuclear equipment and materials in order to enable Israel to build a nuclear power plant in the Negev.

The new power plant is planned to be built in the Shivta area. Senior Israeli officials recently told their U.S. counterparts that they intend to build the plant in order to help solve Israel's energy needs.

However, experts quoted in Omedia said Israel's chances of receiving a green light from the NSG were slim.
