Bibi Urges Lieberman To Run for Knesset on Joint List

(IsraelNN.com) Likud chairman Binyamin (Bibi) Netanyahu has urged Strategic Threats Minister Avigdor Lieberman, head of Israel Our Home (Yisrael Beiteinu), to run on a joint list in the next general elections. Lieberman's party currently is part of the Kadima coalition government.

The tactic would give the Likud more votes from the Russian immigrant sector. MK Netanyahu and Minister Lieberman have not reached an agreement but have discussed the idea, according to sources quoted by the Post.

The Likud currently has 12 seats in the Knesset and Israel Our Home has 11 mandates. Polls show that the Likud would more than double its representation if elections were held today, while Israel Our Home would remain static.
