Ukraine Rabbi Slams Apathy Toward Anti-Semitism

Ukrainian rabbi Ariel Chaikin has written a letter of protest to the Ukraine intelligence agency that observant Jews "feel they are in danger" because of the recent escalation in anti-Semitic attacks.
"They are constantly threatened, they are insulted on the street and people throw things at them," he wrote. Rabbi Chaikin stated that police often patrol near synagogues but do not pursue anti-Semitic gangs that have struck at least twice in the past month.

Human rights groups have reported a growth in neo-Nazism through the Ukraine and other former Soviet states.
