Book Stores Fined for Harry Potter's Sale on Sabbath

Non-Jewish inspectors of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor fined at least three stores for selling the latest and last Harry Potter book on the Sabbath. Each Tzomet Sefarim store will have to pay 5,000 shekels ($1,200).

The large chain store said that most of its outlets were not fined and that more than 7,000 copies were sold. The Hebrew edition is to go on sale in December.
