Traffic Accidents, Casualties Down in 2007

The Central Statistics Bureau said Thursday that the number of monthly traffic accidents had steadily fallen between October 2006 and June 2007.  Accidents decreased in frequency by an average of 1.3% per month. 


The bureau reported that casualties had fallen as well, with an average monthly decline of 2.3% between October and June.  Accidents were still frequent, however, with 1,315 accidents in June that killed 28 people and badly injured 146.
