Alon Davidi, the head of the Sderot Security Forum, said Thursday that only 40% of the classrooms in Sderot and other towns near Gaza are protected from rocket attacks. “The government simply did nothing for an entire year,” he said.
Davidi praised the Supreme Court for refusing the government’s request to reopen deliberations over the type of protection to be given to Sderot residents. The government was just trying to buy time, he said. Davidi accused Prime Minister’s Office Director General Raanan Dinor of leading a campaign to postpone the fortification of Sderot buildings
