Bush: The Goal is a Palestinian State

United States President George Bush spoke on Monday night about his plans to push a diplomatic solution for the conflict between Israel and the Palestinian Authority.  Bush said he would set up an international conference, the goal of which would be “the establishment of a Palestinian state.”   Israel, the PA, and various Arab states would participate in the conference, he said.

Bush called on Israel to make several immediate concessions to the PA.  Among other things, he asked Israel to “end the occupation” by destroying several Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria, and to give the PA hundreds of millions of dollars in taxes collected from the salaries of PA Arabs working for Israelis.
