Second Generation Holocaust Survivors Sue Germany

Lawyers for 4,000 children of Holocaust survivors have filed a suit in a Tel Aviv court against Germany for compensation for psychiatric care. The suit is the first time that second generation Holocaust survivors have claimed damages from Germany.

Children of survivors often suffer fears of starvation and depression similar to that experienced by their parents. Officials of the organization sponsoring the suit said that up to five percent of children of Holocaust survivors require treatment.
