(IsraelNN.com) Omri Sharon, son of former Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and formerly a Knesset Member, has appealed a lightened jail sentence to the High Court. He was convicted of accepting illegal contributions for his father's election campaign and for fraudulent accounting practices.

A lower court sentenced him to nine months in prison. A court of appeals reduced the term to seven months, but the former legislator is asking the court to erase the jail sentence.
