Final Vote Stalled on Agriculture Worker Law Reported: 11:31 AM - Jul/05/07
(IsraelNN.com) A law that would promote Israeli labor over the hiring of foreign workers in the agricultural sector has been stalled in the Knesset Finance Committee by its Chairman, Stas Misezhnikov. The measure, proposed by Meretz Knesset Member Ran Cohen, would involve the allocation of NIS 5 million to encourage Israeli farmers to hire Israeli workers.
