Ashraf Al-Ajrami, a senior official in Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas’s new PA, lashed out at Hamas on Saturday, accusing them of embezzlement. He accused former PA minister Wasfi Qahaba in particular of having embezzled hundreds of thousands of shekels. The Hamas-led PA received more money than the Fatah-led PA, he said, and yet did not pay public sector employees in a timely manner.

Al-Ajrami also accused Hamas of “atrocities,” particularly in Gaza, where Hamas recently defeated Fatah to gain complete control. The group continues to attack civilians and institutions despite its victory, he said.
