Prices for gasoline in Israel are once again on the way up. Fuel pump prices will rise between 1.65% and 1.81% at midnight Saturday night. Prices have gone up 4.5% since May 1.
One liter of 95 octane gasoline will cost 6.17 NIS beginning early Sunday. A liter of 96 octane gas will cost 6.19 NIS. Both prices are for self-service; a service charge of 12 agurot is added if you want a station attendant to fill your tank for you.
Prices are rising despite recent stability in the worldwide price of oil, the Infrastructures Ministry said, because of the recent sharp increase in the value of the dollar. If not for the recent devaluation of the shekel, the Ministry said, gas prices would have been adjusted downward by 1.32% this coming month.
