IDF soldiers were fired upon and drawn into a gunfight with terrorists from the Popular Resistance Committee at the Erez Crossing in Northern Gaza on Monday evening. The Hamas-linked PRC also threw several grenades during the encounter. Initially, the attack was against Fatah-linked Arabs who are waiting to cross out of Hamas-controlled territory.

No IDF troops were injured, but 2 Fatah-allied Arabs have been reported dead and another 10 injured. There are conflicting reports regarding whether the non-combatants were killed by the PRC fire or IDF return-fire. Hamas condemned the PRC for the attack, stating that it does not wish to endanger Arab civilians.
