MK Effie Eitam (National Union / NRP) said that Israel needs to initiate a gradual process lasting three to six months, in which it renounces responsibility for infrastructure and food supply to Gaza. "In Gaza, a Muslim state has been created in our back yard," said Eitam.

"The decisions regarding humanitarian aid should take into account the fact that Iran is the de facto ruler of Gaza," Eitam explained.

"I have nothing against the idea of airdropping food into the Strip or transferring it with UN convoys," said the former Givati Brigade commander: "But the responsibility should not rest with us, but with Egypt."
