The High Court Wednesday sharply criticized the IDF putting a gate along the separation barrier at Bilin, in violation of court orders. The army has opened the gate for about 90 minutes every day to allow passage to and from a neighboring Arab village but has otherwise kept it closed for security purposes.

"The IDF has taken the law into its own hands," ruled the High Court, which previously decided that "no gate will be built" in the area. A temporary order Wednesday ruled that free and open passage should be maintained from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
