The Hareidi religious community has received a permit from the police to stage a huge protest on Sunday against the planned parade of homosexuals and lesbians in the Holy city. The police are to announce Wednesday afternoon whether to allow the parade and will detail its route.
Protest leaders vowed that at least 100,000 people will demonstrate Sunday in an effort to stop the event. Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said last week that he thinks that Jerusalem is not the proper place for homosexuals to parade.
