The Church of Scientology, recognized by many rabbinical professionals as a cult, recently began a campaign to infiltrate Israeli summer camps by offering free activity programs and gifts to children and staff members, according to a report by Ynet.

The Association for Prosperity and Security in the Middle East sent an email to the camp directors, which originated from the Church of Scientology, describing itself as a voluntary group that “deals with reducing violence and advancing education.”

Gifts are promised for every child: a poster and a copy of The Way to Happiness, a book authored by the founder of the cult, Ron Hubbard. Camp directors are also assured a “gift.”

The Educator Ministry, however, has denied knowledge of the group and says “the association’s activities are not approved by the ministry, nor is the association recognized by it.” The ministry statement also emphasized it “did not give…approval to run these activities in summer camps.”
