Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh said Wednesday evening that he plans to change the leadership of PA security forces. The forces are made up of members of various terrorist groups, and the question of their leadership is a politically sensitive issue.

Haniyeh met with PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas on Wednesday, and both men met with Egyptian negotiators to discuss a ceasefire between coalition partners Fatah and Hamas. Haniyeh expressed satisfaction with the meeting, saying the negotiations would “close a painful chapter in the history of our people” and offer a chance to “rebuild and reform” the PA.
