Lebanese President Emil Lahoud stated that Hizbullah should remain armed until the Israeli-Arab conflict is resolved. During a visit to southern Lebanon marking the sixth year since the Israeli withdrawal from the area, Lahoud stated, “The resistance must continue until a comprehensive peace is achieved in the area.”
--Knesset member Otniel Schneller (Kadima), a chief architect of the plan to destroy Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria and transfer their residents, said that Kiryat Arba and Hevron would be enlarged and remain part of Israel. The government plan is to establish new Israeli borders by 2008, but no final draft has been published.
