A committee established to investigate the riot in Teddy Stadium on May 7th found that the stadium’s infrastructure and the fans themselves were responsible. Two teenaged boys were badly injured in the riot, which took place when fans raced onto the field in celebration after their team won a soccer game.
Initial investigations raised suspicions that police might have expected the riot and failed to prevent it. However, while the committee found that an increased police force could have helped to quell the riot, it did not place individual responsibility on any official.
