Land of Israel Legal Forum to PM: Don't Appoint Ramon
The Land of Israel Legal Forum says that if Haim Ramon is appointed a government minister, it will file a petition against the move with the Supreme Court.
Ramon was convicted of forcing an IDF soldier in his office to kiss him on the day the Second Lebanon War broke out. The court ruled, however, that his crime did not carry the category of “moral turpitude” and he would therefore be allowed to return to his political positions.
Likud Central Committee member Moshe Feiglin was barred in the past from running for head of the party due to a ruling that his arrest for civil disobedience against the Oslo Accords did in fact entail “moral turpitude.”
