IDF Central Commander Maj.-Gen. Yair Naveh rules this week on the commander of the Hevron Brigade’s decision to suspend a reserves captain who was shown hitting Israeli leftists trying to dismantle a checkpoint and block the Jerusalem-Be’er Sheva road.

Colonel Yehuda Fuchs, the Hevron Brigade commander, as well as Defense Minister Amir Peretz, condemned the soldier after a short clip of him hitting a protester was aired on Israeli TV.

The reservist commander and his soldiers insist they did their best with the tools at their disposal and are demanding that the army back them up.
