Billionaire Ofer Visits Ramallah, Favors 1967 Borders

Billionaire Idan Ofer, chairman of the Israel Corp. who recently visited Ramallah, told the American business news web site Bloomberg, "From my point of view, the '67 borders are satisfactory,'' Ofer added. "I wouldn't mind if the Palestinians had some part of Jerusalem."

Ofer has met with Palestinian Authority (PA) businessmen in an effort to forge stronger links as a means to bring about peace. "It is in the greatest interest of Israel to have a solution to the Palestinian problem,'' Ofer said. Bloomberg also quoted Stef Wertheimer, who last year sold his Isracar firm to American billionaire Warren Buffet for $4 billion, "Executives are frustrated with the political stalemate. Stop making noise and try to create an atmosphere where both sides can be happy."
