Bereaved Father Plans Hunger Strike

Elipaz Baluah, whose son Nadav was killed in the Second Lebanon War, has announced his plans to begin a hunger strike. The strike will continue until Prime Minister Ehud Olmert resigns, he says.

Baluah plans to begin his strike on Sunday, in the Rose Garden in Jerusalem, across from the Knesset building. “Olmert has crossed all red lines,” said Baluah, who is asking Olmert to resign due to both his failures in the war and the current situation wherein several top officials are under investigation. “I see no reason for him to stay in power,” Baluah said. “We need a functioning government.”
