The National Student Union decided on Thursday night to end its protests against the Shochat Commission. The protests, which have been taking place for several months, have included strikes in universities and colleges, the forced closure of campuses, the blocking of roads with burning tires, and more.

The Union agreed to stop its protests after receiving a letter from Education Minister Yuli Tamir, in which she promised to create a new tuition plan. The protests against Shochat began due to students’ fear that the Commission would recommend a tuition hike.
