(IsraelNN.com) European Union Commissioner of External Relations Benita Ferrero-Waldner announced that $143 million would be transferred to the Palestinian Authority (PA) to cover expenses for the upcoming two months. Despite earlier threats that funds would be withheld if kidnappings of foreign nations in Gaza continued, the senior official made the statement following a meeting in Strasbourg with PA leader Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen).

Helicopters joined the operation following the discovery of footprints of four of five people, causing fears that gang of terrorists had crossed into Israel from Lebanon.
