EU Ignores Israel Security Complaint

Israeli officials submitted a complaint to the European Union due to inadequate security on the border between Gaza and Egypt. According to Israeli security officials, terrorists often leave through the border, and have managed to smuggle large amounts of cash back into the country to fund attacks on Israel.

EU officials denied the claims. They said that Israeli officials are present at border crossings, and should have recognized terrorists at the time of the alleged incidents and submitted their complaints then.

Senior security officials warned on Thursday that dozens of terrorists from Palestinian Authority-controlled Gaza have escaped to Iran and Syria. The terrorists managed to evade border security and have reached foreign training camps, the officials said. Officials believe that the terrorists plan to return at a later date to strengthen the Hamas terrorist group.
