Egyptian Canadian Spy Suspect Denies Charges

A dual Egyptian and Canadian citizen denied that he had spied for Israel at a hearing in Egypt. Mohammed el-Attar told the court that he was forced to confess under torture by Egyptian authorities. He continues to plead not guilty to the charges.

El-Attar is facing trial in Egypt’s State Security Emergency Court. He was captured by the authorities after leaving Canada to visit his family in Egypt.
