(IsraelNN.com) Twelve years ago today, twenty-one soldiers were killed and sixty-eight were injured in a terrorist attack in Beit Lid. The terrorist attack was a double bombing, in which one terrorist waited for citizens and soldiers to run to the aid of those injured in the first attack, and then exploded in their midst.
A crowd gathered Monday evening at the bus stop where the attack took place, and a memorial service was held. A permanent memorial depicting the murdered soldiers stands in the nearby intersection.
The Beit Lid attack was one of several major terrorist attacks which took place after the signing of the Oslo Accords almost fourteen years ago.
