Moshe Leshem: Before You do Business in Rome, Do Business at Home

(IsraelNN.com) Moshe Leshem, founder of the Gamla Shall not Fall Again anti-withdrawal activist group addressed a group of activists and community representatives Monday night at a Beit El meeting seeking to establish an alternative activist network than that associated with the government-funded Yesha Council.

“Our own communities in Judea and Samaria are an asset that we have overlooked,” Leshem said. “We must each go back to our communities and widen the circle of activists. Start a discussion group – people are worried about the future, they want to talk about the current situation. From there the circle will widen and people committed to self-sacrifice on behalf of the movement will come forward.

“You are a half-million strong in Yesha alone. As a private businessman I always say, ‘Before you do business in Rome, do business at Home.’ Do not look to the coastal plane and the caf?s of Tel Aviv for salvation – believe in yourselves and know that when the kibbutz movement was 2% of the populace they were able to determine the agenda. We simply must instill our communities with ideology.”
