Secretary Kerry decided to end his political career by taking a parting shot at his perceived and imaginary nemesis, the State of Israel.

Why in the waning days of a lame duck Presidency after a crushing defeat, the Secretary of State decided (more on this in future articles) that Israel had to be the target and focus of his pent up frustrations and tempestuous wrath is not entirely clear. Could Iran be paying for both the President's and Secretary of State's future libraries, and foundations (this would be the ultimate kickback from the Iran deal)?  As Charles Krauthammer  framed it, Secretary Kerry made a "tossed salad" of the Middle East. I might add it did not qualify as gourmet.

It was an incoherent tirade against Israel ostensibly in support of President Obama's premeditated use of the United Nations Security Council to hurt Israel. The former DNC Chair Debbi Wasserman Schultz characterized the UN "assault" as unnecessary and inappropriate. She further said, "I don't think you can solve a problem with a friend by flogging them publicly." There were many problems with Kerry's "tantrum". One that was particularly galling was his remark that, "If the choice is one state, Israel can either be Jewish or democratic. It cannot be both." Israel is the only real democracy in the Middle East.

Israel has bent over backwards and forwards to try to make peace with an irascible and intransigent foe. In return for concession after concession the past 23 years (since Oslo was signed in 1993), Israel has gotten increasing Terrorism, and incitement with over a thousand killed at the hands of suicide bombers, bus bombings, stabbing sprees, truck attacks, deliberate arson fires, and rockets. Israel gets a raw deal.

Despite numerous overtures to make peace with first Yasir Arafat and now Mahmoud Abbas, Israel does not receive a word of praise from the President or the Secretary of State. Israel gets barb after barb. It only gets more demands and more edicts. Can Israel just be left alone even for a day? The President and Secretary of State had to use their precious little time left to beat up Israel? Instead of learning any lessons from the Election on November 8th, the President digs in deeper to blame Israel for all his colossal troubles. The American people have spoken.

They don't want Israel treated this way. The President and Secretary are manifesting deep Pathology. Both are taking out all of their anger from collective failures around the globe whether ISIS, Syria, Iran, and rising worldwide terrorism on the State of Israel. Why blame themselves when they can blame Israel. Israel has been and will always be a Jewish State. When Ben Gurion decided on a name for the State of Israel he could have kept the name Palestine. (The Jerusalem Post used to be called the Palestine Post).

Because the founding fathers of the State of Israel wanted their new State to be a Jewish State  they used the name "Israel" since it was the name given to our forefather Jacob and the name applied to the Jewish People throughout the Bible. As to democracy, Thomas Jefferson based the United States Constitution upon the Torah-The Holy Book of Moses. The forever Jewish State of Israel remains the bastion of Democracy in the Middle East. Secretary of State Kerry should be thanking Israel for the stability it has brought to the Middle East. It is an utter shame that both the President and his Secretary of State don't get it. Their tenure could not come to an end soon enough.
