In 1992 the State of Israel made a severe Left turn after essentially 15 years of Likud governments in power. It brought about the Oslo Accords and the worse escalation of Terrorism since the First Intifada of 1987.

From the signing of the Oslo Accords on the South Lawn of the White House on Sept. 13th 1993 till 1996, Israel experienced 15 Bombings killing 138 Israelis. In the first part of 1996 4 Suicide Bus Bombings led to the Election of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for the first time in May 1996.

Labor made a comeback for a short time when Ehud Barak was elected in 1999. He lasted to 2000 when Yasir Arafat unleashed the worst Intifada in Israel's existence. Over a thousand Israelis were murdered in this Intifada. For the past 16 years, as a result, Israel has voted for Right wing governments. Israel simply did not trust that Left wing governments could protect their citizens. Israel came to the realization that the number one priority for them was Security.

America has faced rising radical Islamic terrorism starting with the World Trade Center attacks on Sept. 11th, 2001. President George W. Bush, I believe was voted into a second term because of the fear generated by the Sept. 11th attacks. The pendulum swung in the opposite direction in 2008 mostly over a backlash over the Iraq War which cost America over 4000 lives. In the past 8 years, the rise of ISIS, the genocide in Syria, and rising radical Islamic terrorism in the United States have shaken Americans.

The attack in December 2015 in San Bernandino killing 14 Americans, and the attack in Orlando in June of this year killing 49 ratcheted up the fear significantly. Israel moved rightward when this happened. America on the other hand seems to be moving in the wrong direction despite the multiple warnings of more attacks.

The election on November 8th will determine if indeed this is the case. The Left has failed the American citizen. It has not been able to bring the type of security that will be necessary to stem the rising tide of worldwide Jihad. Failure to realize and identify there is a Jihad at all is part of the Left's mantra. America should learn from Israel these valuable and life saving lessons. Americans should really take a long and hard look at their security situation. Ultimately, it is the number one priority. I sincerely hope this will happen in the nick of time.
